Bright and early Saturday morning, Matt and I started cooking our pies. We usually cook around 10 of them, but we settled for 8 this year. We made 3 pumpkin, 2 coconut cream, 1 custard, 1 grapefruit (my favorite) and one that had to R.I.P. but anyway.... it went well considering Mom's lack of good kitchen utensils, no pie shield, and an oven that was 50 degrees off.
