Ch- Ch- Changes

Big changes are happening. Today they created two new wards in our stake. And took our numbers from around 400 per ward to 190...whooh. The ward boundaries put us in the ward that needed to start from scratch and Matt was called into the Bishopbric as the second counselor....whooh.

They brought the 4 original wards together today for a 2 hour sacrament meeting to call the new Bishops and counsellors and to explain the new boundaries. They first had to pass the sacrament to the 1100 people there. (no exaggeration in that number) They used both sides of the sacrament tables in the chapel, and 4 more tables set up in the overflow gym area set up. It was strange, but very well organized and it all went smooth and quick. After they called each of the new Bishopbric's they had the new ward stand up so you could look around and see who all was in it with you....let me just tell you if we miss church one Sunday, it will be very noticeable and half the primary will be gone.

I am excited about the changes...nobody knows their callings as we are all pretty much released until further notice. So other than the new Bishopbric, we are all callingless...for now. They are meeting every night this week to work through and figure out a whole ward in need of callings...whooh. Next Sunday will be interesting!

A Funny Fun Fact:

Before adding the 2 new wards...
We have 10 units (wards) in the stake...
5 units were required to come today...
1100 people showed up today...
when all 10 units are there for stake conference twice a year around 800 people come.

That's 300 more than usually comes, and 5 less wards there.

I think we have a lot of curious people.

What a CUTE couple. If I know Matt ( and I do ) he will make a FANTASTIC counsellor. I am all in favor as long as it doesn't interfere with your trips to Canada

Congratulations to Matt (and to you because he surely couldn't do it without your support). Great picture!
