The Last Straw
Tonight for Family Home Evening we made a manger for baby Jesus. I bought this book for this years Christmas book pic. (It is a wonderful book) Like the story, we are making a manger and then we will draw names each week. Secretly, we can do nice things for that person and each time we do we can put a piece of straw into our manger. Our goal is for our manger to be nice and full for baby Jesus on Christmas morning. The kids were very excited about it all. So tonight we drew names, and made the manger. Hunter ate his paper with the name...true to the book.
Gingerbread Train
On Saturday night the kids put together the gingerbread train. I think they think it is a cruel tradition, because everyday since, Logan keeps asking when are we going to eat the train. So tempting for the little guy, just sitting there...calling out his name....
Black Friday Madness
BLACK FRIDAY WOO HOO!!!
For years, Camilla and I have gotten ourselves out of bed in the wee morning hours in order to save a couple bucks on Black Friday. This years starting time was definitely a record. We lined up at Old Navy at 12:55am and waited in line until the doors opened at 3AM....in the rain. They were giving away awesome gifts (I can't disclose). (worth 50 bucks)
It isn't the money saved or even the cool gifts that gets me out there each year. It is the hanging out with Camilla and this year Mom and Shauna came along for the fun. Doing crazy things like this is fun and keeps me young...I do whatever it takes.
Turkey Day At Last!
Ahh...turkey day. After stuffing our tummies with yummy food, we then spend the night lounging around, watching the kids perform magic tricks and Thanksgiving poems, and finally planning out our black friday route. Ahh...so fun, good times.

Special Dinner
Tonight Hunter wanted to make dinner. Self proclaimed Chef Hunter, prepared toasted cheese sandwiches and tomato soup all by himself. He actually has done it a bunch of times, but it cracked me up watching them. Jessica was the waitress, "signage lady", and water pourer lady. She gave us all tickets to get into our "restaurant" tonight.
I mentioned to the kids that Thanksgiving was a special day for Daddy and I because it was the day we met. So at dinner Hunter and Jessica did a little song and dance for us and presented us each with ice cream sandwhiches. What goofs. You had to be there....it was very cute.
Gobble Gobble
Today in Jessica's class we had a turkey dinner "prep" day. The kids at my table were great! We were in charge of making two pumpkin pies. It was fun baking with kids, a lot of them hadn't ever baked before. A couple of them got to crack there first egg. Tomorrow I will come back and help serve the turkey dinner to these cutie little second graders. I think I will eat before I come...
