We were driving back from our night at the Gunderson's and as we got closer to our house we saw a large plume of smoke and fire very near to our house. Matt said, "Hey isn't that fire look right near our house?" As we got closer to our home and heard the fire trucks screaming towards our street, we realized the fire was coming from our church in which we live right across the street from. The bushes at the back of the church were on fire. Some people were lighting fireworks in the parking lot and we assume they got out of hand.
With the rest of neighborhood we all stood on the church sidewalk a couple feet away and watched several fireman try to work to get the fire out. The winds were picking it up and moving it farther and farther along the bushes, however they finally got it under control. There are two families in our ward who live right above these bushes.

When we were standing with the kids watching the fire. Logan says, "Does this mean we don't have to go to church tomorrow?"

SCARY!! SCARY!! SCARY!! We were camping so we missed the excitement. Glad they got it under control. Too funny...as I was reading it I was wondering the same thing...wonder if they cancelled church. :O)
A camp fire brings people together - a church fire scares people away - some are sad and some are not. Logan you a great little fellow.
